Magic Kingdom’s NEW Fantasyland opening Dec 6, 2013!

I recently came back from a vacation to Disney World in Florida.  I had the opportunity to preview the NEW Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom.  We were able to walk through The Enchanted Forest where we ran into several characters from Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. This is largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom park and is opening in phases.  The preview didn’t disappoint!

Enchanted Forest attractions and experiences include:

  • Under the Sea~Journey of the Little Mermaid: Enter Prince Eric’s castle, board a giant clamshell and rock out on this new musical attraction.  You won’t be disappointed with this ride. It is a classic Disney Fantasyland ride for the whole family!
  • Be Our Guest Restaurant: Feast in one of 3 incredible dining rooms in the middle of Beast’s Castle.    This will be the first restuarant in the Magic Kingdom to search alcohol (wine)!
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle: Become part of a lively retelling of the “tale as old as time,” hosted by Belle and Lumière.  We didn’t experience this attraction but talked to some people who did and they said it was a really great experience!
  • Ariel’s Grotto: Take photos and get autographs with everyone’s favorite undersea princess.

Already open for your enjoyment is the Storybook Circus.  This area of the New Fantasyland includes the Barnstormer, the new and improved Dumbo The Flying Elephant ride, Casey Jr. Splash n Soak Station (water area where you can cool off with a cold drink and the new railroad station!

A future enchancement and the one I am most looking forward to is The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster.   Visible even behind the construction walls this is going to be a great addition to Fantasyland!
