Secluded, active All-Inclusive high-rise on a 3-mile beach – Set on Jamaica's north-central shore, overlooked by lush, jungle-covered mountains, this budget-friendly All-Inclusive appeals to international families, couples, and singles. The sprawling complex opens onto a 3-mile white-sand beach.
Accommodations: A 7-story, X-shaped building houses the majority of the guest rooms and suites. There are also cottages, which are popular with families and groups for the extra space, fun, and convenience of being under one roof together. Rooms are decorated with hand-carved woodwork and colorful local art. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide views of the ocean, gardens, pool, or mountains. Amenities include air-conditioning, TV, phone, in-room safe, mini-bar, hairdryer, and iron/ironing board.
Dining & Entertainment: The Starfish Buffet is the main restaurant, open for all meals including late night snacks, serving a spread of international and local fare with cook-to-order stations. There are 4 options for a la carte fine dining: Casablanca specializes in Jamaican and Mediterranean; Giuseppe is an Italian restaurant; the Reggae Cafe is a casual spot serving authentic Jamaican fare; and Munasan serves Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sake, herbal teas, and teppanyaki-style meals prepared by an entertaining chef. NOTE: All require reservations, and some enforce dress codes. For a late breakfast, lunch, informal meal, or snack, head to the Seashell Bar & Grill, located next to the beach. NOTE: A la carte dining may incur additional surcharges. Drinks are poured at numerous bars, including an after-hours piano lounge and an outdoor cabaret. Live shows, reggae, themed parties, and the disco provide entertainment after dark.
Recreation: There are 4 swimming pools, including an activities pool for water polo, aquarobics, and volleyball, a kids' pool with a waterslide, and an adults-only pool with a swim-up bar. Water sports include kayaking, windsurfing, waterskiing, and parasailing. Scuba diving instruction is provided. Land sports include 4 lighted tennis courts, an exercise room, a rock climbing wall, and a circus school that teaches juggling, trampoline acrobatics, and flying trapeze. Off-site excursions include river cruises, ATV safaris, horseback riding, shopping tours, waterfalls, dolphin encounters, snorkeling, and tours of local mansions. Highly recommended is the Luminous Lagoon, a twilight swim in a natural pool home to small organisms that glow when disturbed (think aquatic fireflies). Guests also have access to SuperClubs' Ironside Golf Club at Montego Bay.
